How to embarrass yourself - Step 1

I know I am clumsy. I trip over my own feet if I just think about it, but why does it have to have the worse timing? I spent the day tripping over the usual spots in the store. There is a broken section of linoleum in the back I always trip over. The carpet between the front and my desk. The step coming into the door. I even trip over the step in the back when I have to lock the gate. But I think I topped it tonight ... oh yes.

It was just me and my boss chatting, everyone else had left for the day and I was grateful because I have some important things to discuss with him about the days events. When we had things settled, and I was holding my backpack in front of me blocking my view I started to walk. Knowing full well I am clumsy even when I can see where my feet are going. I had forgotten I placed a small box of power supplies near my desk.

You can just imaging.

I did manage to stay upright, and I didn't drop my backpack. I kicked the box with the top side of my foot, I am sure it will be bruised tomorrow. It was a slow trip I swear, my arms flailing, the box hardly moving, me trying to stay up. But in the end I only lost my cell phone (which flew about 5 feet from my pocket) and my dignity. My boss didn't laugh. I would have if I was him, I am sure it was humorous. I can't help but chuckle now when I think about it. The whole way home I was bright red.

How horrible.

Ugh. Next time I see him I am sure I'll blush again, how dorky can I be. Oh well, life goes on right?

Moving on.

I am a nerd. I spent a lot of money to get it, but I am very happy. I wore it to work Wednesday and everyone said it was a cool shirt. Mom is even jealous of me for having it. And I will wear it on opening night, because I am that dorky. Besides I have to support clumsy people like me.

What do you think? The back is a little odd, but I love it none-the-less. It is thin so I can wear it on hot days too. These are days I avoid Gus and Lacy so I don't have to pick hair off.

I have been super busy with homework and school. I didn't know it would be so time consuming this semester. And I really don't notice how long I work on it, time doesn't seem relevant to me anymore. It just counts down to when I start looking for a 'real' job and that is a scary thought. I have a big responsibility to look for something that deals with my degree that I will be happy working at for a long time. I can't be a lazy bum when I have my real job so I guess be busy all the time now it preparing me for it.

Tonight mom and I watched "Nights in Rodanthe".

This was the first movie I didn't try and solve the ending. It wasn't bad, and it made me really miss the ocean. I want to live in a huge beach house like that even if there are cans of food since 1995 (you wont get that unless you have seen it).

Well that is the report of my life till now. Sorry I don't post a lot, I hardly have time to turn my computer on anymore.

See you again soon!

Strange Habits

I have livejournals and blogs I check everyday and one of them admitted to a strange habit ... she likes to smell tape. So that got me to thinking my strange habits.

Little things you probably didn't know about me:
1. I HATE holding my food. I would rather eat it with a fork, so when I have to hold it I tend to inhale. I was at work and shoved 1/2 a hamburger in my face so I didn't have to hold it anymore and just then the phone rang. The girl across from me was laughing so hard she couldn't get it for me for at least 4 rings. And I can eat a banana in 2 bites.
2. I trip over everything. I counted at work Friday ... I tripped six times, twice over the same spot. I have to walk especially slow at school during winter or else I fall down. I remember once while walking to Institute I slipped on an icy patch and BAM papers, backpack, books flying everywhere. When I got back up WOOP back down. Lucky for me no one else was around.
3. I can't stick to one book at a time. Even while reading Twilight I was reading a few other books.
4. I always swivle in a swivle chair. Every class this semester has a swivle chair so the whole 3 hours I swivle back and forth I am sure it annoys the professors.
5. If I can hear music I will do a little dance, without thinking. It can be embrassing sometimes.
6. When barefoot I will walk on my toes. I didn't realize this till a girl at work pointed it out.
7. I am horribly unorganized in my everyday life, but super organized on my computer.
8. When I have homework my room is clean, spotless even. I convince myself I can't work on homework if I can see something out of place.
9. I work better under pressure. Not that I like it, I just work better. Maybe it is because I am pressed for time and can't procrastinate like I want to.
and
10. My robe has to be tied off center. I can't stand it being tied in the middle. I don't know why.

Ok, now it is your turn to write you odd habits and behavior.

“My interest is in the future because I am going to spend the rest of my life there”

Before you read this post you have to put on the correct glasses.
Ready? Ok lets go.

I sit in front of computers all day. I mean ALL day. I work from 9-6 with a computer, and the days I am not at work I am in class. Since I chose a degree that deals with computers I sit in front of them there too. They have really nice chairs at school, and at work so when I come home it is annoying to sit in my crummy duct taped chair. Things for the future right?

Anyway, on with the real reason I am writing. So I am sitting in my IT4GIS class looking at this MASSIVE monitor before me. It is a 22" Dell LCD widescreen. Silver. Just pure monitor heaven. And then I go home to this:

...
No comment on that.

And since I have a small desk I sit about 12 inches from the screen.
Nice.

So tonight I went to Staples and bought this:

YAY I HAVE A HEAVEN MONITOR TOO! Now I can go to class and not feel the nagging feeling I am stuck in the 90's. I have an LCD! Yay to me! It is 22" Acer LCD Widescreen.

(Sidenote: I still have a nagging feeling of dread because it was an impulse buy and I should be saving every penny I get and suffer with the CRT because it still worked. But I really wanted it, and my car isn't going to be as much as I budgeted for ... hopefully tomorrow the feeling will go away and I can soak up the newness. ::crosses fingers::)
