Wow it has been a long time since my last update. Sorry I haven’t written, its just that every time I sit down to write something the task feels so daunting and I find something shiny to lose my attention to.
So here you go, what has happened to me since the Twilight movie was released.
Finals week:
I actually turned my phone off for four days. I had a 10 page paper I needed to get finished and like any student out there I didn’t start working on it until the last minute. It wasn’t too bad though. I wrote about 3D ground penetrating radar (like in Jurassic Park when they were looking at the velociraptor at the beginning) in mines to detect roof cave-ins. I finished it three days before it was due and had plenty of time to study for my more difficult classes.
The whole time I was studying I listed to the Les Miserables soundtrack. And for some reason “Who am I?” stuck in my head and that is all I could hear in my head that whole week. But it’s a good song so I was not too upset ^_^.
My first test was a take home final for Personal Finance due Monday night at 8pm. I went from work to the geology computer lab and worked on my programming final till 8 since I had finished my personal finance Saturday night. But he wasn’t going to be in the room till 8, I didn’t know his name let alone his office so I just took the time I had to wait and started working on another final. I turned it in to him and ran off home to study for my IT4GIS final.
My second test was Tuesday morning at 9am. I made it with 10 minutes to spare and that is rare for me. I was usually 15 minutes late. I was never on time this last semester I am surprised my professors didn’t fire me as a student. It was just so hard and stressful I hardly slept. But I am well rested now. Part of this morning test was to get up get a donut and sit in the back with my test flipped over. He said we needed to get the blood pumping again so we can go over our answers and see what is wrong and right.
So I did.
And when I got back to my test I found three mistakes. I changed them and left that room forever. That was my hardest class all semester, IT4GIS. After that I ran to the administration building to pay my graduation fee, then over to the sub to take an exit exam, then to the geology office to check my status there to see if I had everything in order to graduate and finally to the geology computer lab where I checked my email.
To my surprise he had already graded the tests and given us our final semester grade. I ran home and finished my programming final and turned it in 2 hours before it was due. I looked over my 10 page paper and submitted that on moodle as well, 3 days before it was officially due. And then I started working on studying for my Thursday night final, Science in American Society. I had to finish reading a book called The Black Swan. Wednesday I finished my question sets for that class and Thursday night started the final at 7pm. It took me an hour. After that final I went to the rock lab with Crystal and learned how to crush rock. Interesting and informative.
I got home and wasn’t able to sleep in yet. I still had to go to crappy work. We had our Christmas party Friday night where I won $400 on their wheel of fortune. I spent a lot of it on Christmas presents in IF.
I worked Monday to Wednesday, which was pure torture, I hated that place. It sucks the very life out of you. Wednesday I packed everything up and left at noon. I have only gotten one text from Mandy asking where my key was. I told her I would return it when I got my check.
Holly met me back at the town house and we car pooled it over to the airport. Well it didn’t go like that exactly. We left at 2pm and I drove to Grandma’s house to see if she was going to go with us. She hadn’t answered our phone calls and I called her boyfriend and he said he thought she was at church. She wasn’t at home when we got there so we drove to her church and no one was there. I assume she went to Logan. We haven’t heard from her yet. I left her four messages so maybe she will call me back.
Tyson flew in when he was supposed to, no weather delays and we were so happy to see him. He is a little taller and he has more face hair. But that is about it. He is the same Tyson as before. Since he has gotten home I spend my extra time reading to him while he cleans and organizes his room. We are reading The Giver.
That takes us up to today. Sorry it was a long post. I should be posting more regularly from now on, since I am unemployed right now. Lol. Amanda is looking at some apartments today but I am not sure what is happening as far as that is going. We will see. I will be moved before the end of January for sure. I am most likely moving the first couple weeks.
I better get going, we have a trip to SLC today and I am not even close to being ready. Till next time, ciao.
