Bombarded much?

Wow look at that, no posts for a long time, no comments for a long time and then

BAM!

I write three blogs in one day and comment on everything I missed. I haven't been checking my computer websites as often. I find myself being really busy doing stuff or reading away from my computer during the day. You can only look at so much before you are bored of the internet ... or is that just me?

Found this fun tag on a friends blog and thought I would share it with all of you.

You know you love me XOXO

I have a guilty pleasure. I started and finished season 1 and season 2 of Gossip Girl in one week. I am not sure where the idea came from, but I decided one day I wanted to watch it. I watched the pilot and was instantly hooked. It was a glorified soap opera with good looking actors.

Here is a short synopsis:
“Want to know a secret? A really juicy secret? Look no further than the latest message from Manhattan's notorious blogger Gossip Girl. She keeps tabs on the city's most elite teens as they make the rounds from the preppiest school events to the most lavish, decadent parties. And between Serena and Blair's explosive friendship, Dan and Serena's budding romance, Nate and Blair's fairytale relationship (or is it?), Chuck's escapades and Jenny's introduction to the glamorous life, there's a lot to track!”

These are the main characters in the series:

Characters left to right: Rufus Humphrey, Chuck Bass, Blair Waldorf, Nate Archibald, Jenny Humphrey, Lily van der Woodsen, Serena van der Woodsen, Dan Humphrey, and Vanessa Abrams.

These are the characters followed from the first episode to the last:

Characters left to right: Nate Archibald, Serena van der Woodsen, Chuck Bass, Blair Waldorf, Dan Humphrey and Jenny Humphrey.

Rufus is Dan and Jenny's father. Lily is Serena's mom. Relationships amongst the characters are twisted and backwards from some becoming siblings to sharing a sibling and not knowing it, but I won't spoil the surprises for you.

One lesson I have learned from this series is that nothing is secret. If you tell someone something in secret it will come out, at several parts characters use specific names such as "So-and-so told me you ___!" ... no secrets.

My favorite quote:
"Three words. Eight letters. Say them and I'm yours."

Favorite song: Sum 41 - With me

Season 3 starts in September and I can guarantee I will be watching it.

My Family. My Family Dollar.

Some of you might now, some might not but I got a new job. Sadly it wasn’t where I wanted it to be. I am working at Family Dollar as a part time something right now. Not sure exactly what I am supposed to do because some things are really crazy there. I got a call back about a week ago and was asked to go to an interview, so I dressed in my nice Sunday clothes and drove out there and spoke with the boss. The interview went well I filled out paperwork and an online application and was sent out the door with a promise to get a callback in a couple days. They had to finish up some more interviews.

I got home and about two hours later was called back by another person from the store claiming they wanted to interview me. I asked if this was the second interview and she said she was the store manager and wanted to interview me some more since she would be working with me daily. So I agreed and went back in the next day.

Here is where it gets strange.

I was given specific instructions to walk into the store and go in the back, do NOT talk to the employees. I didn’t think anything of it and just did as told. I spoke with the manager and while I was going over the new employee instructions she left to speak with her boss (the first interview woman). I overheard something about the till being off an outrageous amount and the person lying about the reasons behind it. The manager came out and finished the interview with me and told me she wanted to walk me to the front door so I didn’t get stopped by anyone.

Was there a hit on me I didn’t know about? We walked to the front and she told me she just wanted to make sure I wasn’t stopped and talked to. She said there were some crazy things going on and she didn’t want me in the middle of it because I was taking over the employee who was off’s job.

We made it safely outside and I walked to my car safe and sound. My first day was the 22nd. We unloaded the truck and started shelving items. I LOVE IT! I didn’t think I would like shelving as much as I did but I ended up working nonstop to the point my boss came out and ordered me on a break where I sat fidgeting the whole time wanting to get back to unloading laundry soap. Tuesday I unloaded the cosmetics and hair products. I had Wednesday off and Thursday I organized the store to make it look nice and make sure everything was lined up and ready to be counted for inventory. I assume today or tomorrow I will be put on register so I can learn how to do that. I don’t think it will be too hard, but I have never done register before so we will see. I am just worried I will look like a dork when I have to take an item off the list. But I guess everyone has to start somewhere right? I am learning how to do things I normally don’t do. I only work 4 hours a day because the whole strange firing situation. When the girl has a job they are going to kick her out and move me in. so I don’t know how long things will work the way they are now. She said maybe next week I will work the same hours and we will move from there.

A chapter must end before another can begin.

Yup, you read it right. I quit my job today. It was the last day in training, and I was supposed to go on the floor tomorrow. I had Wednesdays and Saturdays off meaning I wouldn't have had a day off until Wednesday. I couldn't apply for a schedule change until the end of July and I didn't want to miss out on going to church on Sundays, so I quit.

I feel horrible for leaving my fellow workers there. I want them to be free, it almost feels like I have escaped Isle de Morte and I have left the priest behind. I called Pam today (a fellow worker) and I told her I quit. I was going to talk to Maria, but J.J. came out with us, so I just left it. I will text Pam and tell her she can give them my number. I am going to go apply at banks monday to see what I can do there.

Here is an example of the treatment we have there. My fellow employee is being blamed for something she didn't do. They claim she changed security information on an account without having the caller authenticate it. I told her to go through her note assist tool and see what she can do as far as covering herself, and there is no record of her changing the code on the account. They have no record of the call, no recording, nothing. So they are blaming her for it and have put her on a final warning. If she does one more thing she is fired. Well of course she tells me, she is worried what was going to happen to her, but beside me and another fellow employee and our supervisor no one else knows. One of the helpers in the area was standing next to my desk listening to my call proclaiming loudly that someone in the class was on a final notice and how dumb it is they are still in training and on a final notice. The girl who was being blamed for this got up after her call was over and went to the end computer so get away. I feel so bad, how horrible they blame her in the first place and then make fun of her to the entire floor. The helper didn't say a name, but she didn't have to to make the girl feel bad.

Anyway, I have potential jobs. One in Boise working as a GIS specialist. I really really really want this job, it starts at $18.25 an hour and goes up to $25.75 an hour starting. I would be redirecting routes for busses, tours, etc. I would look at the layout for the streets and see where Idaho can save money and what roads need to be fixed up. So I would basically keep an eye on the road system and see where the best places we can build and change. The other job is in Challis working at Thompson Creek Mining. Pam at work's son works there and she hand delivered my resume to him. I will apply online and see what I can do as far as getting that job. I don't know anything about the payments or what I would do there, but working in a mine. She said they have desk jobs.

Thats about it for now. I will keep you updated on the job seeking. I will be more adamant on it this time so it shouldn't take me that long to get another one, one I can be happy with.

The Mystery of the Strange Window Locks

Hey! Sorry I haven't updated on the job. It really sucks in case all of you were wondering. I find myself wishing I screw up, they fire me, and I have to find another job.

Something is wrong there haha.

I am going to make it a goal this week to get my resume out every place I walk into. I would love to work at a bank, even if it is a $1.25 pay cut, my sanity if so worth it. I have Becky out there looking for me from the inside.

Reasons why my job blows:
1) I have to read from a script for certain situations ... almost all situations actually. I have to say a certain thing when answering, when apologizing, when laughing, small talk, when closing, everything. I tend to say "If you don't mind holding on the line I will get this set up for us to start the process." and that is a no no to say hold on the line. Go figure. I have to say "Is it alright if you wait on silent hold while I get things ready for the process I will be able to hear you if you have any questions."
2) I have to wear business casual even though my customers won't be seeing me. They say it has something to do with the way we present ourselves through out voice when we are dressed up, a load of hogwash if you ask me.
3) I am constantly hearing "If you do [something stupid here] you will lose your job." We can't say certain things, and if it is a high client and they are upset we can lose our jobs over it, even if we didn't provoke it. We can lose our jobs over each and every dumb thing, so job security is very very very low.
4) I find lunch and break time my only sane time of the day and I tend to drag it out to the last second.
5) When in training the supervisors could care less to help with calls so I find myself trying to figure things out by myself which is never a good thing when you are new.
6) When the customer doesn't want to talk to you you are required to escalate the call to a supervisor, but supervisors try everything in their power to avoid taking the call, you have to literally transfer the customer to their desk before they will take the call.
7) Information on anything new coming out is held in top security rivaling the FBI and the CIA only. Please, these things aren't that interesting.
8) We have to keep our calls under 10 minutes, when most processes take 11 minutes on a good day. And on top of all that we have to write notes in 3 sometimes 6 places! All within this 10 minute mark. Places for notes: 1) note tool on computer, 2) program we run the processes in 3) paper copy of notes 4) if a customer want to leave note 5) if we have to call them back note 6) paper callback notes.
9) If you are taking longer than 10 minutes someone has to come stand by you and listen in on the call even if they are only there annoyed and bored out of their minds. So you have to entertain your customer and your supervisor.
10) The office is full of games and shouting and screaming customers often ask me why things are so noisy. I have to come up with some sort of excuse instead of telling them we are celebrating a happy customer because they are far and few in between.

I really could go on, but I will let the complains flood my personal journal instead of your eyes.

I have uncovered the truth to the strangly locked windows. The first couple days in class we had a guy come open the windows. He had to use this long metal tube and twist the 'lock' several times to get the window open, and then it didn't even open that far. While on break I walked over to it and looked out and found we were fairly high up (3rd floor at the time). Now that I am on the 5th floor I know why there is a special lock to the window. People would probably throw themselves out their job sucks that bad. I know why they are paid $10.50 an hour. It literally keeps people trapped in a living Hell. I cannot take it anymore, I need out.

Ticket the surface please. Thanks.

New Hair!

I love getting my hair done. Who doesn't?

Thought I would post some pictures for those who don't see me that often. I set the appointment up for 2:45 and got out of there at 5:45. Wow!

My all over color is a dark brown, even if it looks black. It is two days old so the colors are a little darker than they will be for the most part. I got some red streaks foiled in there.

Anyway, see for yourself:

I am listening to Motion City Soundtrack. I have listened to them all week they are currently my new obsession ^_^. Here is a link if you want to hear - Motion City Soundtrack - Even If It Kills Me. She only gave me a trim, I want to get over the weird flip up curl at the bottom of my hair before I start cutting it the way I want it. ::Shakes fist at natural curl:: By fall I should have it there.

I have chunks of red on both sides, it is more red than this. This just looks brown on dark brown. Anyway, when my hair is hanging down it is called peek-a-boo color and you can see it in streaks and then at the bottom where it curls out. It looks pretty cool.

There ya go, my new hair and current music obsession. I get to go in again in 2 weeks to get a touch up on the red, there are two spots that didn't want to take.

Till next time.
